Summary
Challenge
Tech Samurais was a digital design and tech agency based out of Vancouver, BC. They started small with just two original members, but steadily grew and established an office in a popular tech hub. With larger clients and projects, the brand no longer matched the maturity of the agency. A new name, logo, and assets was needed to support the continued growth of the team.
Solution
First we worked through brand strategy and what became clear is that the agency’s true strength was its people. By naming it after the 49th Parallel where Vancouver was situated, the brand would be focused around the place and community that shaped the diverse team. And so Four Nine Digital was born. With a clear brand story in place, we developed an identity system that balances restraint with moments of play—modern and understated when needed, but expressive in the right contexts.
Outcome
The agency now had a much more intentional brand story and supporting assets. The new approach reflected a thoughtful, mature, and highly capable team appealing to a broader scope of clients while still reflecting the creative nature of their work.
